If you have ever questioned your worth, whether or not your life counts, or if in fact you are truly unique:
TAKE A LOOK AT A GRAIN OF SAND.
You will find among that infinite number of seemingly pointless, nondescript, identical bits of sediment a world of endless colors, shapes, and 100% originals, each uniquely tailored by an undisputably intelligent and vastly creative God. A God Who both loves and enjoys each and every speck of His creation.
If so with sand, why not you?
We don't have to look much further than the promise given to Abraham and Sarah to see the amazing value of ONE. Through a single son -- the miracle-child Isaac, born to them in their old age -- and ultimately his Seed -- the Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God and the Giver of eternal salvation -- Abraham would become the "father of us all":
"So from one man, though he was physically as good as dead,
there have sprung descendants whose number is as the stars of heaven
and as countless as the innumerable sands on the seashore."
How precious is each individual life. Even identical twins, who share the same DNA, are not carbon copies. We may not be able to see the distinctions, the differences, the uniquenesses in others, let alone in ourselves. But in the eyes of an infinite God, Whose discernment is beyond comprehension, each and every life -- body, soul, spirit -- is uniquely created in His own image. So His Word teaches our own eyes of faith.
Furthermore, He has bought every single one of us with a Preciousness -- the Blood of Christ -- which seals the case. You are precious, I am precious...
BECAUSE THE ONE WHO SAVED US IS PRECIOUS.
Mark Hall and Megan Garrett, "Who But You" (Abraham & Sarah)

"I see a star, You see the Milky Way.
I see one man counting sand, but You see generations..."
For God so loved us,
With special thanks to Dr. Gary Greenberg

ReplyDeleteI'm glad to have you here, Fire Fly!
DeleteThanks so much for these encouraging, joyful words... What wonder and excitement, knowing that God's love for us is beyond what we can ever hope or imagine!
God bless you...
P.S. I think I heard somewhere that every single firefly has a unique blinking pattern. Another "sand" metaphor for you!
